Colts Perform With DSO

Once again the Colts have an outstanding performance with the DSO. The music by the DSO is great as always and the Colts horn line was super at the end.

Along with having a great performance some of the Colts members take time out to have a picture with Uncle Sam.

Also the trumpet line gets together for a group picture.

You can see the photos at flickr through Sarah's website at http://www.sarahscoltstour.com/

Colts Rehearse With Director & Conductor Intriligator

Rebecca and I went out this morning to Washington High School to see Sarah and the Colts. The guard and Pit were out doing laundry and the Horn line was rehearsing with Director and Conductor Dr. William Intriligator from the DSO.

What a great rehearsal as the members come together as a team and learn the music within hours and have it down.

We took just a lot of pictures so that parents and friends can see their Colt member or members. This evening I will be taking pictures of the performance.

RED ALERT, Is It The Colts or Star Trek

RED ALERT this morning, is it the Colts or Star Trek. This morning Sarah sent me a small video from her phone. She said that they were woken up at about 3:00 AM as the alarm in the school was going off and about 10 members she said had gotten dressed and went outside, they did not hear that this was a test. Nice way to get up in the morning, NOT.

Tour or Combat

Sarah sent me this picture from the school and there were a lot of rifles there. I asked her are you guys getting ready for tour or combat. She said see how safe we are. I said ok.

Storms Hit The Colts

Sarah called me in the afternoon when Rebecca and I were shopping for groceries and said that they were getting a really bad storm coming through and that sirens were going off. She said that they were in the staduim in shelter and the second time she called they were on the bus going back to the school. She sent some footage from her cell phone but everyone that watches this is going to have to tilt your head to one side in order to see it correctly. It was the way Sarah was holding her cell phone. There are two small videos, enjoy

Brass N Brats Performance Belmont WI

Brass N Brats was a success, the music was great, even the food was good. I spend the day watching the Colts practice their music and drill and of course taking a lot of pictures of the members which are posted on flickr.

You can get to those pictures by visiting Sarah's website and then going to the unofficial tab and clicking on Flickr. I think there is about 290 pictures in all so please enjoy and see if you can find your son or daughter out there.

Like I said the kids sounded really really strong on the field. They are motivated and spirits were really high yesterday and in the evening.

The members were really working hard during the day and hitting it so that they were ready for last night and they put on a great show. I was very impressed.

I noticed that they made some changes to the drill and that looks really cool. My favorite song from this show is True Colors and they hit it just right last night. I was right there on the side line taking pictures and the trumpets just kicked it, I mean the show was there and I felt it.

I cannot wait to see the show on the field at the home show it should be great, make sure if you can make it, be there. This is going to be a great show. The Colts are in Davenport now, looks like a road trip this weekend for some more pictures and I will try and get some film footage of the kids as well. Maybe some of them will say hi to home.

More to come soon.

Colts Car Wash

Rebecca and I were up early this morning and waiting for the rain to stop in order to grill some chicken and things for the Colts at the car wash today. The rain finally stopped and allowed us to get the grilling done. We were wondering and hoping the storms this morning would let up so that the car wash would be successful.

We arrived at Sarah's location in Dubuque around 12:30 PM and she was standing there on the corner at the light holding the sign and had an umbrella to keep her dry.

We had enough chow to go around for the Colts and I went inside and purchased 3 half gallons of ice cream and about 5 large bottles of RootBeer for floats for the Colts members and Cadets at the car wash site.

Rebecca and Sarah spent some time together which was a good thing for both of them as Rebecca really misses her big sister.

The members all seemed in good spirits and really seemed to enjoy themselves today. From what I understand that car was a success and the Colts generated from early estimates between $24,000 to $28,000.

We talked to Sarah this evening and they had a laundry run this evening in Dubuque and then they went to Wal-Mart in Maquoketa this evening.

They will be in Maquoketa and from there they will be going to Belmont, WI next Tuesday June 15th for the Brass n Brats and they will be there also on the 16th as well.

Alot of pictures from Belmont will posted that week sometime, so please stay tuned for them.

Cornfield Tour Loras College

Rebecca and I went out and spent some time taking pictures of Sarah and the rest of the Colts. It was a great day with lots of sunshine.

We showed up in the late afternoon around 3:30 PM and watched them on a smaller field as they went through parts of the show working on drill.

After dinner they were on the stadium field working on some new drill and then they put it together and it looked really good.

Sarah's spirits are high and she is just loving it, she had sunburn as well.

Will post more as we find out things.
